Who We Are

The mission of the Murwillumbah Seventh-day Adventist Church is to know Jesus and to make Him known. This defines our greatest desire and purpose, as summed up in these core values:

  1. Spirituality. We will put Jesus first, last and best in everything. He is the leader of this church and the desire of our hearts. We will stop at nothing less than to know Him and to make Him known.

  2. Growth. We will do whatever it takes to ensure that the great commission remains our mission. We are a not a club, but a movement that will not rest until Murwillumbah is turned upside down by the everlasting Gospel.

  3. Community. Community is good, but community with Jesus is best. We exist to connect, because God made us that way. Our church is not a building it is a family. And a family where everyone is welcome.

What We Believe

  • The Bible: God still speaks

All of the Bible is inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16) and is just as relevant for us today as it was when it was first written. God’s word not only foretells the future and teaches us how to live (Exodus 20:2-17) it also changes hearts.

  • Jesus: God still saves

Jesus is God’s only Son, and is fully divine Himself (Philippians 2:6). Jesus came to die to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21) and right now He is just as active on our behalf as our faithful High Priest (Heb 4:14-16). In short, we believe that Jesus is enough, and is the answer for anyone who honestly seeks truth, love and life.

  • Church: God still moves

God uses His Church to do His work. Although not perfect, God’s church has been commissioned (Matthew 29:18-20), empowered (Acts 1:8) and grounded in Jesus (Colossians 2:7). God has given each of His believers a supernatural gifting to advance His work on this earth (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).

  • Restoration: God wins

Jesus fulfills His promise and will return to take us home to be with Him forever (John 14:1-3). He delivers His people, brings an end to sin and recreates all things the way they were meant to be (Revelation 21:4).
